Why you should avoid the volcano at Yellowstone

In July, President Donald Trump declared the Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming a national park.

In a statement, he said the designation will help protect people from “an increasing threat of wildfires and erosion, as well as severe weather events that could threaten our national parks.”

But Yellowstone is already the most active volcano in North America, and the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory, which tracks eruptions and volcano activity, warns that if we continue to allow the park to deteriorate, the risks to the public are far greater.
